Covid Protection Policy

Current level for our region is Orange

Here at Hack Farm we have always prided ourselves on going above and beyond in providing a safe and welcoming space for guests from all walks of life as they immerse themselves in nature and discover the magic of connected horse riding.

With the roll-out of the Covid Protection Framework, businesses across New Zealand are now faced with a lot of hard decisions regarding the requirement of vaccine certificates – Balancing our responsibility for the health & safety of our guests/staff/community as well as being mindful not to alienate other individuals based on personal belief.

Hack Farm strongly supports vaccination as our best current line of defense against Covid-19 – as evidenced by the massive body of research and leading scientific consensus. However we also believe in respecting individuals regardless of their personal believes.

Fortunately, we believe Hack Farm is in a unique position to be able to find this balance and offer an inclusive space whilst adhering to the Covid Protection Framework and recommended safety protocols. With the ever changing nature of Covid, our health and safety protocols will be dynamic in response to current traffic light levels and local Covid cases in order to mitigate the risk posed to all our guests/staff/community.

Orange Level (Current)

At Orange we will begin to introduce a few more safety protocols in order to not only ensure the safety of our guests and staff, but also to ensure peace of mind for all guests.

– Covid Sign in required

– Vaccine Certificate OR Negative Covid test (within 7 days prior to arriving for your stay.) required for anyone over the age of 12.

– Masks to be worn in any enclosed communal camping facilities.

– Please stay home if you are experiencing any Covid-like Symptoms at the time of your booking. You will be offered a full refund if you are unable to come due to Covid-like illness.

– Please let us know straight away if you are experiencing any Covid Symptoms.

– Respect social distancing bubbles by remaining at least 1 Clydesdale or two mini ponies length away from other group bubbles until invited to do otherwise.

Homestead Accommodation

Due to the enclosed communal spaces, the homestead rooms will require a current Certificate of Vaccination in order to book a room.

Camping

We will be requesting your vaccination status as a condition of staying in our campground. If you would prefer not to disclose your status or do not have a current vaccine certificate, we will require a negative covid test result for anyone over the age of 12 within 7 days prior to your stay.

Horse Experiences

Due to the activity being outdoors and social distancing recommendations easily being followed, we will NOT be requiring certificates of vaccination  for our rides.

You will however be asked to wear a mask at all times unless on the horse.

Frequently Asked ORANGE Questions

No! We only require masks to be worn in shared communal spaces.

These include the camp kitchen, bathrooms, barn and the outdoor cooking area / Pizza Oven.

Please note that if you have a valid mask exemption we will honour it but we will be required to see it as a condition of stay.

We will also ask you to first check with any other bubbles in your vicinity  within the communal space if they are comfortable sharing the space with you, if not, we ask that you simply wait until the facilities become available before using them.

We would be happy to help with organising a designated time for you to use the facilities in a way that keeps you and those around you safe.

We will simply offer you a more exclusive area for the duration of your stay and insist on you getting a Covid test in Takaka straight away. Please do not use any of the communal facilities until you are cleared by your Covid test.

Please note that any agressive behaviour towards our staff or other campers for what ever reason will be grounds for immediate cancellation of your booking without refund.

Please do not argue with staff members about our Covid Policy or you will be asked to leave.

More than that, the safety of our guests/staff/wider community is of paramount importance to us and these extra protection measures will help keep our community safe, whilst working hard not to exclude anyone based on personal belief.

If, on arrival you can not show us your valid vaccine certificate OR your Negative Covid Test result (within 7 days prior) you will be unable to stay with Hack Farm.
